Refund policy
Blue Coastal Travel Inc. is committed to transparency regarding cancellations and refunds. This policy outlines the terms under which refunds may be available for travel bookings.
Proudly affiliated with Envoyage Travel, a global network of independent travel advisors backed by the Flight Centre Travel Group.
Important: Most Travel Bookings Are Non-Refundable
The majority of flights, hotels, tours, and travel services are non-refundable and non-changeable once booked and paid. This is determined by the Travel Supplier's policies, not by Blue Coastal Travel.
Cancellation Penalties
Changes or cancellations to bookings typically incur penalties including:
- Airline change fees and fare differences
- Hotel cancellation fees
- Tour operator cancellation penalties
- Blue Coastal Travel administrative fees
- Complete loss of non-refundable deposits
Specific penalty amounts vary by Travel Supplier and are outlined in your booking confirmation and itinerary.
When Refunds May Be Available
Limited refunds may be possible in the following circumstances:
1. Travel Supplier Cancellations
If a Travel Supplier cancels your booking, refunds are subject to that supplier's policies. Blue Coastal Travel will assist in seeking available refunds or credits on your behalf.
2. Refundable Fare Options
Some airlines and suppliers offer refundable fares at higher prices. These options will be presented when available.
3. Travel Insurance Claims
If you have purchased travel insurance, you may be eligible for reimbursement through your insurance provider for covered reasons including illness, injury, or other insured events.
Refund Process
To request a cancellation or refund:
- Contact Blue Coastal Travel immediately at stephen.brunetta@envoyage.ca
- Provide your booking reference and reason for cancellation
- We will review your booking terms and contact Travel Suppliers on your behalf
- Refund processing times vary by supplier (typically 30-90 days)
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method
Important Timing Requirements
- Before Travel Commences: You must cancel before your initial departure date to preserve any potential refund value
- Partial Cancellations: Canceling any segment of your trip may result in loss of the entire remaining value
- No-Shows: Failure to show for any flight or service typically results in complete forfeiture of all remaining travel value
Travel Insurance - Your Best Protection
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to protect your investment. Insurance can cover:
- Trip cancellation for covered reasons
- Medical emergencies
- Trip interruption
- Baggage loss
- Travel delays
Blue Coastal Travel can help you select appropriate coverage. While we work to protect your investment at every stage, travel inherently involves risk — which is why we strongly recommend comprehensive coverage.
Administrative Fees
Blue Coastal Travel may charge administrative fees for processing cancellations, changes, or refund requests. These fees are in addition to any Travel Supplier penalties.
Credit Card Chargebacks
You agree not to initiate credit card chargebacks against Blue Coastal Travel for Travel Supplier service issues. Your remedy lies with the Travel Supplier directly.
Exceptions and Special Circumstances
Each booking is unique. Contact us to discuss your specific situation. We will work diligently to explore all available options, though we cannot guarantee refunds beyond what Travel Suppliers permit.
